Job Description
The Fire Safety Coordinator reports to the Chief Risk Officer. Principally responsible for developing and managing Fire Safety programs, developing and providing Fire Safety training programs, and for performing the technical services, investigations, and visual inspections and/or for maintaining records for the University to assure fire safety compliance:
Required Qualifications:
This role requires a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and / or experience plus at least five years related experience. Must have the maturity and judgment to represent the department in interactions with the university community and to seek assistance from supervisor, when needed. Must work independently with minimal oversight to perform job responsibilities. Also requires good computer, interpersonal, verbal, and writing skills.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and pass a physical examination.
Preferred Qualifications:
New Jersey Certified Fire Inspector certification preferred. Active membership and participation in a Fire Safety professional society and knowledge of fire safety detection and suppression systems is preferred.
