Stock Control Assistant

Wilsonart, Temple, Texashas an immediate opening for a Stock Control Assistant. This individual evaluates and categorize finished products into the correct bins based on pattern, finish, and product type. Conduct counts for all non-bin sheets in an accurate manner. Performs other tasks as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Evaluate and categorize finished products into the correct bins based on pattern, finish, and product type.
  • Conduct counts for all non-bin sheets in an accurate manner.
  • Identify materials with special instructions designated for specific projects.
  • Prepare discrepancy reports for assigned area.
  • Generate red tags for runs with incorrectly processed materials or discrepancies in material allocation.
  • Collaborate with warehouse team to coordinate replenishment orders and manage stock transfers and finished goods returns.
  • Operate lift trucks and low boys as required.
  • Participate in quarterly inventory counts for products in the Finished Goods Department.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile any discrepancies, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions.
  • Manage the proper labeling, tagging, and coding of stock items to facilitate easy identification and tracking.
  • Partner with the operations team to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment and shipping processes.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to stock control and inventory management.
  • Assist in developing and implementing inventory control strategies to improve overall efficiency and minimize inventory holding costs.
  • Maintain a clean and organized stock storage area, optimizing space utilization and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, providing updates on stock availability, discrepancies, and any inventory-related issues.
  • Continuously uphold a clean and safe working environment to promote a culture of safety and efficiency.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of computers sufficient to input and retrieve data
  • Knowledge of products and their manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to understand and follow directions
  • Ability to use basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability toread andwrite legibly.
  • Ability to identify material characteristics.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to maintain a safe work environment

Laminate Handling

  • Carefully verify the correct pattern, type, and finish of the laminate.
  • Determine the designated bin, or if not assigned, in the appropriate location for incoming laminate.
  • Maintain accurate records on run log sheets and run tickets.
  • Ensure that laminate is stored in the bins in an appropriate manner to mitigate risk.
  • Identify and set aside any defective laminate, placing it in the reject box, reject bins, or on the exception table.
  • Replace batteries and propane tanks for lifts when needed.
  • Receive all materials from the Sander Department and process them accordingly.
  • Perform any additional tasks as instructed by management.

MINIMUMREQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

High School Graduate or GED.

EXPERIENCE:

One year of manufacturing or distribution experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking/pushing/climbing and lifting material or equipment of heavy weight of 50 - 100 pounds.

ENVIRONMENT:

Located in an environment with regular exposure to fumes or odors, temperature extremes, or loud noises which cause noticeable discomfort or moderate risk of accident or illness
