About Dayton Job Corps
Job Corps’ national mission is to educate and train highly-motivated young people, ages 16-24, for successful careers in the nation’s fastest-growing industries. Here at Dayton Job Corps Center, we support their mission by teaching eligible young people, the skills they need to become employable and independent, and place them in meaningful jobs or further education. Students here have access to room and board while they learn skills in specific training areas for up to three years. The program helps them to complete their high school education, trains them for meaningful careers, provides transitional support services, and assists them with obtaining employment. Job Corps graduates either enter the workforce or an apprenticeship, go on to higher education, or join the military.
Purpose: Reports to the Center Director at Dayton Job Corps Center. Responsible for recruitment activities with designated state responsibility of contractual goals. Responsible for the daily supervision of the assigned sites.
Your Responsibilities:
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in human services, psychology, social science, communications, counseling, education, or closely related field plus one year of related experience or; Associate’s degree in human services, psychology, social science, communications, counseling, education, or closely related field
Experience: Two to three years of related experience and/or training.
Skills/Abilities:
• Knowledge of and demonstrated skills in instruction (analytical thinking, problem-solving, technology integration, communication and evaluation of information)
• Ability to evaluate personnel under management and make recommendations regarding disciplinary actions, promotions, and/or merit increases
• Participation in PRH-mandated staff training mandatory; failure to participate may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination
• Ability to promote the Career Success Standards (CSS) by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students when necessary, and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Computer proficiency
Minimum Eligibility Qualifications:
• If the position requires driving, a valid driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record is required
• 1-9 documentation required to verify authorization to work in the United States
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check Additional Information
