We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Scientist in cancer pharmacology with a track record of scientific excellence to join our team in Waltham, MA. As a Senior Scientist, you will be leading from the bench and a member of the in vivo team focused on delivering in vivo pharmacology datasets that will have a direct impact on the drug discovery pipeline. Accountabilities:
Use in vivo technical skills to support oncology drug discovery by:
Developing and working with various in vivo models of cancer including subcutaneous and disseminated cell line and patient-derived xenograft models
Delivering tolerability, PKPD, and efficacy studies to build comprehensive in vivo pharmacology data packages to support drug discovery programs
Profiling tissue samples to explore mechanisms of drug response using both traditional and novel approaches
Work with various software programs and databases to capture all study data
Work collaboratively across project teams and disciplines to advance projects
Independently provide data analysis and interpretation
Present in relevant meetings to project teams and stakeholders
Manage timelines for study delivery
Propose novel technologies and approaches to improve or replace existing disease model platforms
Essential Skills/Experience:
PhD with 2+ years' experience in biology, pharmacology, or related field
Demonstrated experience generating and working hands-on with various rodent disease models
Understanding of pharmacology concepts such as pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics
Experience and knowledge of oncology
Ability to develop and deliver clear presentations and effectively communicate key messages
Ability to work both independently and within multidisciplinary project teams
Strong organizational skills
Experience using molecular and cell biology techniques such as Western blot, RT-PCR, flow cytometry, and ELISA/MSD
Understanding of statistical methods and their applications
Familiarity with software programs include GraphPad Prism, Microsoft Office suite, and in vivo data capture systems (e.g. Study Log or similar)
Desirable Skills/Experience:
Prior experience in biotech or pharma
Experience delivering all aspects of PKPD, efficacy, and tolerability studies in xenograft models
Experience working with disseminated hematologic cancer models
Experience with flow cytometry, including ability to design panels, profile markers in tissue using MACSQuant and/or BD cytometers, and analyze data in FlowJo
Experience using small animal imaging modalities (e.g. Xenogen, ultrasound)
