An FTI Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) MEP Project Manager will be responsible for generating new business, networking, and establishing and maintaining customer relationships. The EPC MEP PM will plan construction projects and oversee their progress along the way in a timely and cost-effective manner and will be responsible for budgeting, organization, implementation and scheduling of the projects. The EPC MEP PM will provide the complete and satisfactory execution of the entire project while working directly with the project superintendent and other team members. The ideal candidate must be proficient in the use of a PC and Microsoft Office Suite. Primavera Scheduling and Construction Administration Software experience is preferred. Incumbent location could be up to 100% on site for duration of a project as necessary.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or related Engineering Degree or equivalent technical experience.
Experience: 5+ years experience in the Industrial/Manufacturing Commercial Construction market and/or 5 years in the Renewable Energy Market and 1 year of construction estimating experience desired. On site construction experience a plus.
Travel: Up to 100%
Work Schedule: Typical work hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday.
However, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leads Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Closeout phases of the projects.
Ensures quality assurance processes are being implemented and followed.
Promotes FTI's Safety Culture through all phases of the project.
Overall development of turn-key project schedules.
Organizes and coordinates work sequencing and scheduling with field team.
Works with Purchasing Department and vendors to ensure effective material coordination.
Identifies and generates new business. Networks, establishes, and maintains customer relationships.
Ensures that projects are completed profitably, in a timely manner, and according to customer expectations.
Reviews outgoing estimates with Estimating Departments to ensure accuracy.
Prepares and/or assists with bid packages for solicitation and generates the EPC estimate.
Visits various job sites and interacts with owners, developers, partners, site leadership, engineers, consultants, crews, and subcontractors to ensure proper job progress and to support and encourage safe behavior.
Effectively delegates to direct reports with proper control systems in place to ensure accountability and to prevent decision making bottlenecks.
Acts as coach and developer of talent; as well as skillfully selects and trains those individuals.
Monitors the flow of work between his/her unit and others in the organization; asks questions and recommends improvements.
Understands and conveys functional strategies, business strategies, and corporate mission.
Fosters effective cross-functional collaborations to accelerate work processes.
Collaborates with Project Manager and project Superintendent on day to day activities in order to fill in for Project Manager or Project Superintendent during any absence from the job site.
Responsible for Quality Control inspections to ensure compliance with the Construction Documents. Coordination of equipment/system shop drawings and coordination drawings and respective inspections.
Maintain the QA/QC log and project QA/QC plan. Responsible to actively manage correction of non- compliance activities in an efficient manner.
Coordinates VDC assemblies and systems between MEP contractors and lead VDC Coordinator.
Monitors and evaluates changes in scope.
Coordinates design activities with consultants, subcontractor partners and clients.
Keeps project leadership informed as to all open or unresolved design issues and tracks design and cost changes during the development of a project design.
Assists with development of preliminary and detailed scheduling activities.
Coordinates with vendors and internal resources on supply chain requirements.
Reviews risk profile of MEP systems to assist with development of successful execution plan.
Solicits new subcontractor relationships and coordinates necessary budgets, scope reviews, and contract management.
Assists with development of MEP related commissioning activities.
Leads overall management, coordination and direction of assigned subcontractors and vendors.
Assists with coordination of daily field activities with other trades for proper coordination and execution.
Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
