Our client is hiring a skilled and experienced Lead Cloud Automation Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative team. This role is pivotal in leading the automation of cloud infrastructure to ensure efficient, reliable, and scalable operations across multi-account cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, and GCP. The successful candidate will work 100% remotely, focusing on developing and implementing a comprehensive cloud automation strategy. This position offers the opportunity to lead a team of automation engineers towards enhancing our cloud processes and infrastructure. The role demands a blend of leadership skills and technical expertise, making it an exciting challenge for the right individual.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the cloud automation team to develop and implement automation strategies for multi-account cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).


• Managing the prioritization and implementation of tasking for cloud automation, coordinating with peer cloud leads on automation requirements.


• Advise on and enhance cloud team process improvements using cloud best practices and team standards.


• Provide technical guidance, strategy, and solutions for automation to ensure availability, scalability, and security through automation.


• Lead and implement the design, development, and deployment of automated workflows and processes.


• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, CDK, and CloudFormation.


• Develop governance documentation and standard operation procedures for automated processes and tools.


• Effectively communicate automation strategies, progress, and results to leadership and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 12 years of relevant experience in cloud technologies and automation.


• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in cloud technologies including AWS, Microsoft Azure, or other public cloud services, with a strong emphasis on AWS.


• At least three (3) years of experience writing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, CDK, and CloudFormation.


• Two (2) years of experience with Python or similar cloud scripting language preferred.


• One (1) cloud certification at the associate level or higher in AWS preferred.


• Proven experience leading and implementing cloud automation projects.


• Familiarity with Jira and similar toolsets for workflow management.


• Candidate must hold or be able to obtain Public Trust clearance.


• DevOps Engineering experience is highly preferred.
