Description
Teach courses in Energy Systems based on instructor's qualifications.
Adjunct instructor positions are part-time. Teaching assignments will vary from semester to semester and are based on enrollment. Therefore, there may be semesters where no assignments are available.
Evaluate and grade students' class work, assignments and papers. Prepare and deliver instructional materials (i.e. syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts) in person and/or on-line. Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions. Compile, administer, and grade examinations. Participate in required reporting processes (i.e. grades, participation, etc.). Assist students in connecting to college resources.
Minimum Qualifications
EGY 101 Energy Industry Fundamentals
Bachelor's degree or higher in technical field such as engineering, architecture, electronic technology or similar OR
Associate degree or higher in any field and EIF certification OR
Associate degree or higher in any field and 3 years full-time documented work experience in Energy industry OR
Journeyman or Master Lineworker, Electrician or similar professional license.
Climbing Clinic EGY 110, EGY 111 Climbing Orientation, EGY 112 Climbing School
Journeyman or Master Lineworker or Electrician or similar professional license
Energy Industry Experience EGY 220
Bachelor of Science or higher with CEWD certification
Energy Systems Internship EGY 345 and Independent Study EGY 399
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architecture
Industry Materials Analysis EGY 361, Power/Smart Grid 380 and Senior Seminar 499
Master's degree or higher in technical field such as engineering, architecture, computer science, electronic technology or similar OR
Master's degree or higher in any field and 3 years full time documented work experience in energy industry OR
Master's degree or higher in any field and relevant industry certification in computer systems or energy grid systems (NERC, COMPTIA, CISCO, Google, etc.)

Adjunct instructors are not employed directly by Jackson College with the exception of those receiving a pension from the Michigan Public School Employees Retirement System. All others are employed by EDUStaff, LLC. If you are selected to teach at Jackson College you will be required to complete EDUStaff's employment application and on-boarding processes.
A copy of Jackson College's Annual Security Report and Annual Fire Safety Report is available on the JC Campus Safety & Security website. The security report contains crime statistics for the previous three years for all of our campus locations and the annual fire safety report, which contains statistics for any reported fires in campus housing units and fire safety systems in these buildings. Additionally, the report contains policies, available resources and information concerning personal safety, fire safety and reporting procedures for both crimes and fires.
