About the Role
The Network Technician II is responsible for monitoring and maintaining SDWAN networks, hardware infrastructure, and related systems. This role requires expertise in operating systems, applications, networking, and ITIL principles, as well as experience with change management oversight. You will assist in resolving service-impacting events, identifying opportunities for system improvements, and supporting team efforts to enhance system health and availability. Key responsibilities include monitoring and analyzing incidents, escalating as needed, and ensuring effective coordination and documentation to meet operational standards.
Responsibilities
Provide training and mentorship to less experienced team members.
Conduct real-time system monitoring and trend analysis using tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, and SolarWinds.
Perform administrative tasks, including maintaining contact lists, escalation protocols, and documentation.
Generate and distribute reports aligned with Incident Management standards.
Analyze system and manual alerts, taking necessary steps to address potential issues.
Perform proactive application and infrastructure monitoring, troubleshooting, and triaging alerts.
Manage operational incidents, including escalation and resolution, in line with Incident Management procedures.
Support incident resolution through bridge management, internal/vendor escalation, documentation, and root cause analysis.
Draft clear and timely major incident notifications and executive communications.
Ensure consistency and accuracy in monitoring systems and device reporting.
Work in a 24x7x365 environment, including shifts on holidays and weekends.
Adhere to all regulations, policies, and procedures while completing required training.
About You
Required Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Computer Operations, Operations Management, or equivalent work experience.
2-4 years of IT or technical operations experience, including OS, applications, AD, networking, and support.
Proficiency in Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server, Exchange, Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
Experience with formal Incident Management processes (ITIL) and ticketing systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, project management, or business systems.
ITIL Foundation Certification.
SolarWinds Certification.
