Alamo NEX Construction, LLC is a part of the Ferrovial Group in Texas. In 2021, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) selected Alamo NEX Construction, LLC, a joint venture between Ferrovial Construction Texas, LLC and DBW, LLC (both Ferrovial Group subsidiaries), to complete the Interstate 35 (I-35) NEX Central Project. This project is a $1.5 billion Texas Design-Build (DB) project through the cities of San Antonio, Live Oak, Selma, and Schertz that will consist of non-tolled improvements along I-35, I-140, and Loop 1604. The proposed improvements will include the addition of elevated managed lanes to I-35, addition of 4 connector bridges at the I-35/I-410 North interchange, addition of 4 connector bridges at the I-35/Loop 1604 interchange, and widening of Loop 1604 in Bexar and Guadalupe Counties.

Job Description: Quality Control Inspector

Position Summary:
The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring that the Quality Program is functioning and compliant within the scope of the project.
Job Duties:
Analyze daily schedule for possible conflicts with work tasks and coordinate with the subcontractors each day's work
Coordinate surveyors as needed to verify hold points
Manage time as required to monitor work without direction from Quality manager
Inspect daily activities before allowing next phase to begin
Look for and address possible design flaws and issue RFIs if needed
Fill out daily inspection reports and check QC forms to make sure they have been completed prior to signing off on work to be done
Scheduling of daily tests and communicating with labs for testing.
Monitoring lab technicians to make sure testing is being done properly and requiring the technicians to be removed from project if not performing correctly
Monitor the aggregate materials being delivered for consistency request labs to take proctors of any materials which look suspicious before allowing it to be incorporated into the project or reject as needed.
Accept or reject concrete material based on specs and visual observations
Explore alternative construction methods in order to gain acceptance from TxDOT of what might be considered marginal work where the work in question is not covered by the specs.
Create and provide records related to quality system to document control procedures
Determining the disposition of all nonconformities and implementation of corrective and preventive actions
Coordinate between Construction team, QC Lab, and the QA team to insure smooth progression of work with required tests and inspections.
Read, analyze, and interpret the most complex plan documents and utilize discretion in application to daily inspections and work to be performed
Job Requirements:
Minimum 2-3 years' experience managing or responsible for quality assurance or quality control for highway, bridge/structures, paving, and/or utility relocation projects as a contractor
Related experience and/or extensive knowledge of heavy highway projects
Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints
Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
