MGX Shop Crane Technicians are responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of various crane equipment including mobile cranes and boom trucks.
This position will be located at the Aiken, SC branch for MGX Equipment Services and reports to the Branch Manager.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Operate and perform thorough inspection of cranes in order to diagnose defects.
Diagnose, repair and troubleshoot various mobile hydraulic and lattice cranes; repair hydraulic and electrical components.
Examines parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges. Reads, understands and interprets operating and parts manuals, blueprints and technical drawings.
Tests mechanical, electronic, electrical and hydraulic products and equipment after repair or modification to ensure proper operation and compliance with OEM specifications.
Prepares for jobs by checking parts and drawings for accuracy and completeness.
Perform thorough and accurate annual inspections.
Properly fills out working reports, hours reports, time sheets, hours overviews and expense reports.
Capable of accomplishing tasks independently without direct supervision.
Provides excellent customer service.
May be required to weld as needed
Other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Mechanic/Technician required.
Experience working with different forms of mobile crane equipment, specifically Grove RT & TMS Cranes; Grove GMK European Cranes; Manitowoc EPIC and/or Traditional Cranes; National Boom Trucks preferred.
Must be able to read both electrical and hydraulic schematics.
Welding experience preferred.
Must have excellent communication skills with a customer/client focus.
Possession of a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record preferred.
Basic computer skills preferred.
Required to purchase full set of hand tools up to 1.5 inches.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
This is a full-time position with typical working hours between 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. Overtime and weekend work may be possible based on business conditions.
