POSITION PURPOSE: The 2nd Shift Supervisor will be over the supervision and coordination of direct care staff and services while providing overall management of resident supervision and monitoring of daily activities. The hours for this position are 2:45 pm to 11:45 pm.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Supervise and coordinate the overall operation of the daily resident activities.
2. Work with Director to assist with the coordination of necessary staff coverage and appropriate staff training. This includes provision of shift coverage as possible and appropriate.
3. Evaluate and monitor staff activity.
4. Assure staff adherence to policies and procedures including chart maintenance, health and safety requirements, and handling patient medications.
5. Assist with the process of screening, interviewing, and recommending applicants for hire.
6. Maintains order, security and safety of the units at all times.
7. Provides fair and constructive discipline to the residents per policies.
8. Oversees and directs the residents regarding appropriate speech, dress and behavior.
9. Participates in general staff meetings as well as any training that is required.
10. Participate and provide appropriate input on assigned committees.
11. Provides information for the development of treatment plans, progress reports, etc. as assigned.
12. Administers medications according to policies.
13. Assists and serves as support to other staff members.
14. Has knowledge of the rules governing childcare institutions and the written policies of the facility.
15. Commit to annual professional and skills development opportunities.
16. Demonstrate the ability to assess and respond to crisis situations.
17. Varied duties by shift assignment.
18. Maintain shift logs for assigned tasks.
19. Ensures smooth transition between shifts.
20. Works actively to promote teamwork between shifts.
21. Maintain required twenty hours per year of ongoing training.
22. Other duties as assigned.

WORKING ENVRONMENT:
This job operates in a residential environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and filing cabinets. This role has the possibility of exposure to inside environmental conditions, such as noise and infectious/communicable diseases, insects, possible exposure to distressed patients, families or visitors. Dress code for this position is level A.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or Sociology (or related field) preferred; but degree can be waived in lieu of experience.
2. Minimum of one year experience working in a residential setting.
3. Must obtain and maintain CPR, First Aid, and Cornell CPI.
4. Must be 21 years of age and must hold or obtain valid driver’s license.
5. Must meet the requirements as identified by State Licensing regulations.
