In this position located onsite at our Ypsilanti, Michigan location, we are looking for an experienced quality management specialist to serve as the quality management representative in an ISO 9001 & AS9100 Quality environment. This critical position will provide hands-on ownership in various and multiple aspects for the quality system.

Responsibilities:
Serve as Management Quality Representative in an ISO 9001 & AS9100 Quality environment
Provide hands-on ownership for the various elements of the quality system including corrective action, validations, customer complaints, and internal audits to ensure successful performance during third party audits
Actively manage the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of quality systems based on established direction and priorities
Ensures the Quality System is understood, implemented, and maintained throughout all levels of the organization
Ensure efficient and effective processes and tools are established for compliance with quality system requirements and continually improved
Provide support to internal functions in the application, maintenance and improvement of quality systems and department specific processes
Develop and prepare regular performance reports and metrics for Quality Management Systems, assist other departments in support of quality and management objectives
Influence the Quality Culture of the organization
Assist in performing a variety of Quality Engineering functions to improve the Quality Management System.
Develop and drive the implementation of quality initiatives in support of Continuous Improvement and Lean Initiatives
Interface effectively with all levels and departments within the organization and can communicate professionally with respect for customers, subcontractors and colleagues
Participate in the identification of the need for Training Programs to support Company goals and objectives
Establish, mentor, and facilitate the formation of Quality Management teams, initiatives, and workgroups to address key quality issues, resulting in continuous Quality improvement efforts
Collaborate with Quality Engineering in performance of their duties
Basic Qualifications:
5 years of Quality experience, preferably in an Aerospace or Software Development environment, with some experience at a management level
BS in Engineering, Business Management or equivalent experience
Demonstrated knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS 9100 standards, certification requirements and quality system implementation
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and be detail oriented
Must be motivated to work effectively without direct supervision
Must be able to demonstrate the following competencies: approachability, action oriented, problem solving, and priority setting and building an effective Quality System
Demonstrated ability to lead organizations and blend together diverse skill sets
Dedicated to results through the achievement of their peers and organization
Experience in leading a team to successfully complete certification audits
Preferred Qualifications:
10 years of Quality experience, preferably in an Aerospace or Software Development environment, with 3 - 5 years of experience at a management level
ISO 9001 and/or AS 9100 certification ISO 9001 and AS 9100 standards certification
