Description: Our client is currently seeking a Sr Project Manager Hybrid in Long Beach, CA 12+ Month Contract
Job Overview: Oversees and manages large-scale, cross-functional programs and/or multiple medium to complex projects from initiation through completion under limited supervision.
Responsibilities:
Initiates, plans, executes, monitors, controls, and closes large-scale or multiple medium to complex projects/programs.
Manages activities within PMI process groups: initiation, planning, executing, monitoring & controlling, and closing.
Utilizes PMO project methodology, tools, and templates.
Develops project scope, goals, objectives, milestones, and deliverables with sponsors.
Manages all PMBOK knowledge areas: integration, scope, time/schedule, cost, quality, team, communications, risk, and procurement.
Leads project teams (1-20 members) in a matrixed environment.
Assigns tasks, sets expectations, and ensures project team collaboration.
Identifies and addresses gaps in capability, quality, and availability.
Monitors and controls project progress, managing schedules and resources.
Negotiates changes in scope, timeline, deliverables, and integration points.
Provides consultative services for project management and cross-functional discussions.
Manages project risks and escalates issues as needed.
Develops closing documents and transition plans.
Prepares project communications and status reports.
Facilitates internal and external meetings.
Performs quantitative and qualitative analysis for projects.
Maintains positive relationships within business units.
Ensures all project documentation is completed and organized.
Collaborates with the PMO leader to ensure governance and process standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Minimum 8 years of project management experience (10 years preferred).
4-6 years of healthcare industry experience preferred.
Experience leading project teams in a matrixed environment.
Advanced understanding of project management and healthcare systems.
Strong interpersonal, leadership, and strategic planning skills.
Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative analysis.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proven self-starter with strong organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple unrelated projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, MS Project Professional).
Adaptable to changing priorities and assignments.
