The primary function of the Quality Control Technician is to safely collect samples of aggregates, hot mix, asphalt, concrete, evaluate and test samples, and record testing results.
Essential Responsibilities:
Collection of aggregate samples, hot mix, asphalt, and concrete.
Testing and recording of samples.
Evaluate test results as compared to project specifications and quality requirements.
Assists in the review/audit process of QC results obtained.
Maintain lab sites and equipment.
Closely work with QC staff, Plant Operators and Job Supervisors in lab and on work sites.
Qualifications:
Understands specific project specifications and quality requirements.
Ability to interpret and conduct project specific testing requirements.
Must be organized.
Able to work independently.
Ability to work well under pressure.
Prioritize and multi-task assignments.
Strong communication skills.
Construction materials testing experience a plus.
Associates Degree or comparable experience strongly preferred.
Good communication skills.
Proficient in math and science.
Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
Required to stand, sit, move about different facilities and work locations.
Regularly required to drive and navigate to various job sites.
Travel required (West/North Texas)
Valid Driver's license required.
Ability to lift objects up to 80 lbs.
