WHAT YOU'LL DO



The AVI-SPL Service Project Engineer will work in partnership with the Global Helpdesk AVI-SPL Sales and Engineering and other Field Service technicians to provide Service support for customers at onsite locations with the end goals of restoring functionality to our customers' assets while delivering a world-class Customer Service experience. This role acts as a coach and mentor to less senior technical roles and may be assigned the support of strategic accounts critical to the organization. May also provide technical oversight on commissioning of systems. This role is salary exempt.



Day-To-Day Responsibilities:


  • Advanced troubleshooting of audio, video, software, networks and control systems.
  • Advanced field installation and service support of control programs (AMX / Crestron / Barco Firmware) - upload and download capability with advance debugging capability
  • Advanced level field service support of networked devices (Routers IP Protocols etc.)
  • Advanced support of large format displays, video walls and Direct View LED technology, including configuration, color balance and troubleshooting
  • Demonstrate on-site job leadership and mentor fellow service technicians.
  • Provide specialized training and support for next level service technicians.
  • Provide end-user client training on complex integrations as required.
  • Provide consultation to end-user clients on design and technology needs.
  • Lead the installation of small projects as required to meet the customer requirements.
  • Act as the customer liaison for service contracts and service calls.
  • Read write and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints
  • Ensure equipment delivery and associated responsibilities for designated assignments
  • Take responsibility to accurately complete job documentation as needed
  • Perform service tasks in a timely and quality conscious manner including but not limited to: pulling cable installing connectors, mounting projectors and hanging ceiling mounts
  • Perform preventative maintenance visits to help maintain a stable client-based system
  • Adhere to and understand OSHA standards for all phases of the job
  • Travel to various job sites nationally as required
  • Other duties assigned as needed




WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR




Must-Haves Skills:




  • Effectively communicate with employees, customers, and colleagues
  • Ability to use hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner
  • Ability to work and think independently and ensuring to meet deadlines
  • Advanced computer knowledge (Linux, Microsoft, Etc.)
  • Expert knowledge of signal flow for audio video and control
  • Ability to manage small to medium projects
  • Ability to solder & crimp connectors including fiber terminations
  • Advanced programming capability (AMX / Creston / Barco / Etc.) - changes and troubleshooting
  • Valid Driver's License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets AVI-SPL driving standards




Must-Haves Education:




  • Minimum of 5 - 7 years of complex audiovisual integration experience preferred
  • Formal education in Electronics or related field preferred
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience with Enterprise VC solutions (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Bluejeans, Cisco Telepresence etc.) both hardware and software
  • AVIXA General CTS (Certified Technical Specialist) is required
  • Preferred external training:
    • AMX Technician (Networked AV) | Certification
    • AMX Programmer (Netlinx) | Certification
    • AMX Programmer (RMS) | Certification
    • Crestron Core Track
    • Crestron Technician/Field Engineer Track
    • Crestron Programmer Track
    • Extron AV Associate Certification
    • Extron Authorized Programmer
    • SC Q-Sys Level One
    • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Course
    • Cisco CCNA
    • Poly Video Professional (VIDEO-PRO)
    • Barco Certified Expert
    • Planar Clarity Matrix G3, TVF, or WallDirector
