Performs collection work and related duties associated with delinquent gas accounts. Internal bidders will follow the current bidding process outlined in Article X of the CBA.
Key Responsibilities
Terminates gas service at meter or curb valve, when necessary; installs locking device to secure meter. Documents customer circumstances, including hardship application screening; takes application for hardship certification. Investigates unauthorized gas use; determines name of responsible person or persons; shuts off gas when required; reports conditions and recommends corrective measures. Visually inspects meters and gas facilities on premise; reports findings relative to unsafe and hazardous conditions, access denial or obstructed meters, unaccessible curb boxes; recommends installation of pilfer proof locks, curb valves and relocation of meters. Have knowledge of Company routines, policies and methods relating to collection procedures. Reads industrial meters, when assigned. May be called upon to collect payments. Submits daily written reports as required.
Required Qualifications
Those indicated in Article X, Section 3, Qualifications in the Contract.
Must be able to read, write and speak English effectively.
Must be able to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Must have MVD license and good driving record.
Must be physically able to perform the duties required.
Must have basic PC skills and keyboard skills.
Must have basic math skills.
This is a DOT safety-sensitive position. Any applicant transferring into this department from a non-safety sensitive position will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
