This position is remote, but occasional travel for training and meetings may be required to Harrisburg, PA or State System universities across the state of PA.PA residency is a requirement.
Summary/Objective
The Office of the Chancellor, Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education's administrative headquarters in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, is conducting a search for a permanent, full-time position of Technical Instructional Designer. This position will report to the Director of IT Shared Services and will work closely with the team responsible for the administration of our SAP (ERP) systems and IT services for the Office of the Chancellor.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesConsult with SAP business analysts and functional program leads to providing instructional design expertise during the exploration, planning, and design of State System SAP business processes modernization. This role is responsible for creating training materials, including online learning modules, user guides, job aids, and live training sessions, to ensure standardized seamless adoption and optimized usage of SAP across the State System. Communicating with all stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget Building capacity and skills of staff and university partners and course teams to produce learning experiences through live instruction, video, documentation, training, templates, tools and resources. Maintaining up-to-date, in-depth knowledge of best and emerging practices in online instruction and continuing and professional education and presenting industry best and emerging practices to internal system office and external university audiences Assess the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics, and adjust content as necessary for continuous improvement. Track and analyze training completion rates, engagement levels, and learning outcomes to measure program effectiveness. Modernizing existing IT Shared Services SAP documentation and SAP user guides Collaborate with SAP subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and relevance of training programs Facilitate training sessions for end users both remotely and in person Adapts training delivery methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and preferences Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Basic Qualifications (Required)
A bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Information Technology, or a related field is required. Must have experience in developing online instruction, adult learning principles and training (including documentation) from design through development and delivery.
Other Qualifications/Abilities (Required)
Strong knowledge of accounting and business-related processes
Application software skills, specifically Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.), Microsoft SharePoint and collaborative software (Microsoft Teams, Zoom etc.)
Ability to perform detailed analysis and configuration tasks
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in business process modeling and data analysis tools
Knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to organize and document work
