JOB TITLE:
Branding Iron Sports Editor
JOB PURPOSE:
To provide edited copy through stories and copy from writers and reports for publication in the newspaper.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Meet with editor/managing editor daily for consultation and assignment.
In consultation with editor/managing editor, assign stories to writers and reporters.
Dummy newspaper section.
Edit copy of newspaper section.
Generate story ideas within sections.
Supervise work of writers and reporters.
Conduct meeting with writers and reporters when necessary for progress reports, story ideas, work evaluation.
Maintain regular office hours of not less than 15 hours a week.
Attend weekly editorial meetings.
Other duties as assigned.
Determine coverage of sporting events.
REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:
This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Full-time student
Minimum 2.5 GPA
Available for training Aug. 21 and 22 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Some basic newspaper reporting or equivalent experience
Some prior supervisory experience
