Senior Research Associate, Child & Behavioral Health Research Innovations (CABHRI) lab

The Senior Research Associate reports to the Director and Principal Investigator of the Child and Behavioral Health Research Innovations (CABHRI) lab, Dr. Catherine A. Taylor.
The Child and Behavioral Health Research Innovations lab conducts and translates research to enhance the social and behavioral health of children and families. Our work emphasizes preventive interventions and dissemination strategies to improve overall well-being and disrupt intergenerational cycles of childhood trauma, violence, and abuse. The team is currently focused on manuscript development, proposal development, and translation of findings to key audiences.
Senior Research Associate's main duties will involve: 1) proposal development for new funding opportunities, especially in research dissemination, implementation, and/or translation projects aligned with the Child & Behavioral Health Research Innovations (CABHRI) lab; 2) leading and collaborating on manuscript development (writing and data analyses) from our Testing Innovations in Positive Parenting study (TIPPS); 3) innovative translation and dissemination of research findings to academic and non-academic/practice-based audiences; 4) analysis and management of longitudinal data; and 5) supervision and co-mentoring of junior team members/students. Proposal development will largely be aimed at collaborations with child health providers (e.g., pediatric clinics, child behavioral health agencies) and focus on dissemination, implementation, and translation sciences. Manuscript development will be based on data from TIPPS: a longitudinal mixed methods study that includes assessments related to stress, mental health, social support, exposure to violence, maternal parenting practices, and child behavioral well-being. Data were obtained from multiple sources including video/observational data of mother-child interactions, respiratory sinus arrhythmia (RSA), self report survey, and in-depth qualitative interviews. Innovative translation and dissemination of lab findings to academic and non-academic audiences may involve assistance with development of media such as visual abstracts, podcasts, videos, and other materials as needed.
The Senior Research Associate's scope of work is dependent on grant-funding and has the potential to be remote; the Senior Research Associate is responsible for ensuring that research strategies related to CABHRI research activities meet the highest scientific and ethical standards, including TIPPS research and new projects shall funding allow.
Essential Functions of this position include:
PROPOSAL DEVELOPMENT (40%):
Collaborate on grant writing for various types of funders (e.g., federal, foundation, private donors).
Provide and apply expertise in implementation and dissemination science.
Building from TIPPS foundational work, lead/co-lead, and/or contribute to proposal development focused on program adaptation, implementation, dissemination, and/or translation projects.
TRANSLATION AND DISSEMINATION OF RESEARCH FINDINGS (30%):
Lead, co-lead, and contribute to manuscripts for peer-review and abstracts/presentations for conferences using TIPPS data.
Co-create innovative communication materials for the translation and dissemination of study findings for both academic and non-academic audiences.
DATA ANALYSIS (20%):
Analyze and manage longitudinal data. Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., SAS, STATA or R).
Ability to create reproducible data analysis, including analysis scripts Familiarity with mixed methodologies, working with quantitative and qualitative data.
SUPERVISION, MENTORING, AND OTHER (E.G., ADMIN, AS NEEDED) (10%):
Assist with supervision and mentorship of student research assistants and interns, working alongside the CABHRI director and lab team.
Assist with lab administrative tasks as needed.

Requirements
Doctoral degree in Public Health, Social Work, Psychology, or another related field, required.
A minimum of four years' experience conducting research to include: research conceptualization and implementation, data analysis, and preparation of data for dissemination in publications and conference presentations.
Excellent record of scientific contributions, including primary or key author on publications.
Proficiency in grant writing.
Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies including implementation science and mixed methodology preferred.
Proficiency in utilizing computer applications including statistical analysis software (e.g., R, STATA, SPSS, SAS) and other applicable quantitative and qualitative data analysis platforms are preferred.
Knowledge and expertise in the areas of child health and well-being, behavioral health, pediatrics, and dissemination and implementation science, preferred.
