90 room Courtyard by Marriott. This position requires overall maintenance knowledge and trouble shooting ability with skills in painting, HVAC, carpentry, equipment, and tool usage.
Responsibilities:
Maintaining the exterior of the building, parking lot, and public areas
Maintaining all equipment in guest rooms
Conducting monthly safety inspections and training the staff on safety and emergency procedures
Working with vendors
The Chief Engineer must be willing to respond to emergencies, even if after hours
Develop and maintain job description and expectations for all maintenance staff members
Maintenance of the entire property including all exterior and interior aspects (Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, boilers, washers, dryers, kitchen equipment, pool/spa, building, guestrooms, bathrooms, parking lot, grounds, ceilings, PTAC, computer, telephone, systems, etc.)
Be an active participant in weekly department head staff meetings
Supervise assigned associates including hiring, discipline, development, and evaluations
Test, examine, and maintain hotel's life safety systems to ensure they are 100% operational at all times
Maintain repair and preventive maintenance records and coordinate compliance of service contracts
Coordinate all day-to-day maintenance aspects by utilizing the Guest Request Log. Items which are not completed by day end should be added to the next day's duties.
Maintain proper par levels for all equipment and supplies needed for the maintenance department
Work with the General Manager to develop, implement and coordinate hotel safety and emergency plans
Contribute and work as a team member in all facets of the position and management team
Perform other duties as requested by the General Manager
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises 1-2 employees in the Maintenance Department
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
Interviewing, hiring, and training employees
Planning, assigning, and directing work
Appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

Requirements
Education, Credentials, Certification, and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required
College Degree Preferred
At least 5 years of Hospitality Maintenance and Management Experience required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent knowledge and experience in all facets of building maintenance
Knowledge of electrical, HVAC required
Understand and operate electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and boiler systems
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent guest service skills
High level of organization and attention to details are required
Read and understand test equipment and measuring devices
Requirements:
Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending and reaching, kneeling, stooping, crawling and climbing.
Work schedule varies and may include working on holidays and weekends and alternate shifts.
