What to expect on the job:
The position assists various levels of Warehouse from Warehouse Associates to Line Supervisors ensuring training, understanding and compliance of Warehouse policies, procedures, RF, and company related safety. Assisting in all duties related to receiving, put-away, storage, handling, and shipment of High Liner Foods frozen product.
Will train to understand pressures and temperatures of the Ammonia Engine Room,
Rack Inspections and Documentation.
Position interacts with external suppliers, contractors, vendors, and state & local regulatory agencies while assisting with aspects of the logistics department.
Travel between two sites - Peabody, MA & Portsmouth, NH
Assist team primarily in the accurate put-away, order picking, stacking, loading and shipment of product.
Monitor daily work performance, productivity, and accuracy of warehouse freezer associates.
Conduct forklift training, retraining, First Aid/CPR and additional safety training and certifications for Peabody & Portsmouth Cold.
Communicate with truck drivers regarding loading/unloading of product.
Participate & lead monthly internal rack inspection.
Participate in yearly third-party rack inspections.
Monitor, track & verify rack repairs are done annually.
Monitor pre-shift forklift pre-inspections forms.
Identify equipment that requires maintenance or repair.
Write work orders as needed.
Investigate/Respond to all incidents/accidents during shift and off shifts at Peabody & Portsmouth Cold.
First aid responder.
Conduct new hire and new temporary worker staff orientation focusing on company & warehouse policies, safety guidelines, UKG and the Alchemy system.
Responsible for Warehouse safety records.
Conduct pre-shift Warehouse meetings covering process/safety issues or concerns.
Coordinate with management all needs or concerns regarding gear, locker assignments and productivity.
Conduct warehouse inspections, to include Peabody & Portsmouth Cold.
Conduct First Aid/CPR and additional safety training/certifications.
Provide primary and ongoing R.F. training and or assistance.
Coordinate with temporary staffing agency for staffing needs.
Work closely with the Human Resources department regarding new hires and employee relations.
Ability to work all shifts which include split shift and respond to afterhours emergency/calls.
On and off-site training for engine room operations.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications:
Ability to operate various Powered Industrial Equipment.
Must demonstrate excellent written/oral communication skills to interact with employees at all levels within High Liner Foods.
Be technically competent to interact with various individuals regarding Warehouse & safety topics.
Effective written and verbal communication skills to create and deliver training.
Ability to establish and maintain a professional and effective working relationship with employees and external entities.
Maintains the utmost confidentiality in dealing with employee personnel issues and business information.
Valid US driver's license.
Ability to work with multiple cultures.
Flexible with work hours.
Basic computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
