Alta Science & Engineering, Inc. is currently accepting applications from qualified candidates for a Civil Drafter/CADD Specialist position to be based out of any of Alta's offices (Moscow, Kellogg or Boise, Idaho). This position supports a variety of civil and environmental engineering consulting projects. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, organized, personable, and detail-oriented.
This is a Regular Full-Time (40 hrs/wk) benefited position.
Responsibilities May Include:
Work closely with engineers to develop plans and specifications for grading and drainage, municipal roadways and utilities, reclamation and habitat restoration.
Produce plan sets that include georeferenced imagery, alignments, surfaces, third party information and other features of civil design packages.
Generate detailed plan sets using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other software.
Assist with preparing project deliverables (e.g., technical reports, memoranda, design documents, and bid packages) to communicate design methods, technical justification, and project status to clients, contractors, etc.
Maintain a high degree of professionalism during interactions with Alta staff, clients, and other stakeholders, as applicable.
Provide timely communication with supervisor regarding work-related matters.
Actively promote good Health and Safety practices
Required Qualifications:
Associate degree in civil drafting, bachelor's degree in civil engineering or similar
Experience preparing construction plan sets following various agency standards.
2+ years' experience civil drafting including earthwork, grading plans, utilities.
Understand coordinate systems and be able to import third party data to CAD software.
Expertise with AutoCAD / Civil 3D
Strong organization skills and attention to detail
Ability to work productively in a team environment and on multiple projects
Desired Qualifications:
Software proficiency certificates for AutoCAD suite
Experience with CERCLA remediation projects
Valid driver's license with insurable driving record
40-Hour or 24-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Training (per 29 CFR 1910.120) with current 8-hour refresher training

Salary Range $55,000 - $68,000 per year (Depending on experience)
