The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from: $92,185.60 - $115,232
Job Summary
Support cost of service, rate design and tariffs, and pricing related regulatory compliance filings for Connecticut Natural Gas Corporation (CNG) and The Southern Connecticut Gas Company (SCG). Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and corporate/business area goals. Works with and supports senior regulatory and rates staff, attorneys, peers, on cost, rates and tariff matters. Keen understanding of interrelationship of key regulatory matters with other Regulatory groups and business areas. Analytical resource for team members. Provides analyses to shape regulatory strategy. Reports to Manager, Pricing & Analysis (Gas).
Major Roles and Responsibilities
Support cost of service and develop rate design for SCG and CNG. Support company witnesses in regulatory proceedings before the CT Public Utilities Regulatory Authority, including serving as an expert witness or a subject matter expert on rate matters and participating in collaborative meetings and technical conferences.
Work with other business areas to respond to customer and regulatory inquiries and to interpret tariffs as well as terms and conditions of service.
Provide guidance to Regulatory Accounting re amortizations and deferrals resulting from regulatory proceedings.
Provide analysis to support senior leadership decision-making and to respond to inquiries from legislative affairs and corporate communications.
Analytical resource for other team members.
Deliver high quality, accurate periodic (monthly, quarterly, etc.) financial, usuage and billing reports based on thorough analysis of data.
Refresh existing reports for evolving business needs.
Automate standard reporting to aid and develop current and future reporting.
Develop new reports based on data stored in multiple data systems, but primarily in SAP Business Warehouse to meet management needs.
Support ongoing regulatory reporting.
Perform data analysis and testing to asses data accuracy to help maintain databases/systems.
Support the organization by fulfilling ad hoc reporting and data requests for internal and external reporting.
Examine data and determine the best plan to address key business questions and proactively identify opportunities for reporting improvements.
Drive analytic innovation and best reporting practices.
Verify/Review reports run by others.
Perform electric and gas rate calculations.

Experience/Training
5 years of related experience.
Knowledge of utility pricing, tariffs and understanding of regulatory processes.
Proficiency in computer software, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SAP.
Required Education
Bachelor's degree in Business, Mathematics, Accounting or a relevant field. An advanced degree may be substituted for some years of experience.
