Department:Mechanical and Electrical ServicesPay Rate Type:HourlyEmployee Type:Job Summary:The electrician will construct, maintain, and repair electrical systems common to college campuses. Systems include primary and secondary power, fire alarm, energy management, telephone/data, card access, lighting controls, power plant wiring, and increasingly complicated control systems. The electrician is responsible for answering and solving customer issues, work orders, and after hours calls. The electrician reports to the supervisor of mechanical and electrical services and interacts regularly with faculty, staff, students, and visitors.

Position hours are Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with overtime as necessary to support operations. General indoor and outdoor campus environment. Position involves frequent movement, must be able to walk, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs. Driving of College vehicles required. Computer and tool usage involving repetitive hand/wrist motion is also necessary. The position requires a pre-employment physical.
