Ensures compliance with the International and U.S. laws related to Import/Export activity
Will serve as a resource for all import/export/duty/tax operational issues and questions as well as assist in coordinating the global synchronization and regular review of import/export/duty/tax requirements and compliance methodologies.
Manages, motivates, and develops employees and staff in the export department
Advanced understanding of reviewing regulatory documents as they pertain to Imports and Exports
Proficient in U.S. Import/Export, ACE and Census Bureau Requirements
Reviews and approves Import invoices and completes USDA permits as applicable. Obtains FDA Release documentation
Write and implement processes, standards, templates, and information-based (training) documents for international export.
Includes staff in planning, decision-making, facilitating, and process improvement; makes self available to staff; provides regular performance feedback; improves processes, products, and services.
Identifies user needs and directs building of teams to work across all levels of the organization.
Mentors team and other individuals in the organization as it supports employee' development plan.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Diploma/GED plus revelant experience required
Bachelor's Preferred
Must have 5-7 years of related experience in the Pharmaceutical industry or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of international commerce-Duties and Taxes and VAT payment terms, customs regulations, country requirements and international supply chain processes.
Must be detail oriented
Effective communication skills
Able to handle multiple tasks
Individuals typically gain experience as import/export coordinators and international transportation planners.
Mastery of skills required to read, understand, and adhere to the SOPs and policies of a GMP environment.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to physically perform duties of position which include: Exert up to 10lbs of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Position may involve prolonged sitting but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
