Position Title: Receptionist/Administrative Assistant
Location: New Hyde Park, New York
Salary: $16.50-17.50 per hour
Hours: Monday – Friday from 10:00am to 6:00pm
Reports to: Center Director

Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and friendly Receptionist/Administrative Assistant to join our team. This individual will serve as the first point of contact for families, staff, and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth administrative operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Front Desk Operations:
Greet families, visitors, and staff in a professional and welcoming manner.
Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and inquiries promptly.
Maintain the reception area, ensuring it is clean, organized, and welcoming.
Administrative Support:
Assist in maintaining student and staff records in compliance with state regulations.
Handle data entry, scheduling, and filing.
Prepare correspondence, forms, and reports as needed.
Support enrollment and registration processes.
Communication and Coordination:
Act as a liaison between families and the administration.
Manage calendars, including scheduling meetings and appointments.
Distribute memos and updates to staff and families.
Compliance and Safety:
Follow New York State Office of Children and Family Services regulations.
Monitor building security protocols, including visitor sign-ins.
Handle emergency procedures in coordination with the center's policies.
Employment Details:
Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday. Some flexibility in hours may be required.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or higher preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an administrative or receptionist role, preferably in an educational setting.
Familiarity with early childhood programs and regulations is a plus.
Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and office technology.
Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
