CALIBRE is an Employee-Owned Management Consultant and Digital Transformation company, has an immediate opening for an IT Technician.
The IT Technician is responsible for providing technical support to teachers, staff, and students within a school environment. This role ensures the smooth operation of IT systems, devices, and services, focusing on timely issue resolution, system management, and proactive support. The specialist handles tasks such as troubleshooting, device imaging, network support, and user management while balancing multiple projects under high-pressure situations.
This position also involves supporting classroom technology, managing device usage policies, and leveraging tools like GoGuardian for monitoring and reporting. Familiarity with networking equipment, including UniFi systems, and knowledge of IP camera troubleshooting is an added advantage. The IT Technician communicates effectively with all stakeholders and works collaboratively to maintain and improve IT services in a fast-paced educational environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Provide on-site and remote IT support for teachers, staff, and students.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with laptops, Chromebooks, Windows 10/11 devices, printers, and smart boards.
• Manage users, devices, and configurations within Google Admin Console, including organizational units and policies.
• Use tools like GoGuardian to monitor and manage web activity and ensure compliance with school policies.
• Support and occasionally manage Active Directory for Windows-based systems and user accounts.
• Troubleshoot and configure network shares and RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) connections for users.
• Support and troubleshoot networking hardware, including UniFi networks and Wi-Fi access points.
• Respond promptly to IT issues reported via Google Chat or other communication channels, ensuring efficient resolution.
• Coordinate with vendors for Chromebook repairs, including shipping and tracking devices.
• Provide support for basic IP camera troubleshooting and configurations as needed.
• Manage multiple IT projects as assigned, meeting deadlines and maintaining quality under high-pressure situations.
• Document troubleshooting steps and solutions to build a knowledge base for common issues.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with staff, students, and vendors to resolve issues or provide updates.
• Must have at least 1 year of relevant experience
• Must be a US Citizen
• Proficiency with Google Workspace (Google Admin Console) for user and device management.
• Experience with Chrome OS, Windows 10/11, and basic Mac OS support.
• Knowledge of basic networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, RDP, and UniFi networks.
• Familiarity with Active Directory for managing user accounts and organizational units.
• Experience with imaging and building laptops/PCs for deployment.
• Knowledge of managing and troubleshooting network shares.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware and software, including smart boards and other classroom technology.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Experience coordinating with vendors for hardware repairs and warranty claims.
• Hands-on experience with computer hardware, printers, and peripheral devices.
• Self-motivated and capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to lift or carry up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Skills:
• Familiarity with GoGuardian for web activity monitoring and reporting.
• Basic knowledge of troubleshooting and maintaining IP cameras.
