Job Description

We are seeking an entry-level, seasonal MEP Engineering Designer. Candidates will have the opportunity to participate in the design of the MEP systems for a variety of building types. Involvement within project teams from schematic design through construction on projects, reviewing shop drawings and related submittals, coordinating with other disciplines in all phases, and directing the production of the projects are also part of the internship experience.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with HVAC load calculations.
  • Size and layout of airside systems.
  • Learn the different mechanical system types and where to best apply them.
  • Assist on the technical design, including lighting calculations, voltage drop, short-circuit calculations, and power/lighting layouts.
  • Assist on the technical design, including all plumbing system calculations and layouts.
  • Learn and apply best practice engineering methods.
  • Learn and apply the process and procedures for coordination with Architecture, Structural, and Civil disciplines.
  • Learn to develop and model 3D systems in Revit.


Job Requiremetns

Job Requirements

Basic understanding and willingness to learn and develop applicable codes to all MEP systems and building codes. Current participation as a 3rd or 4th year, a traditional or non-traditional engineering student at an accredited university working towards a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, is a must.

Qualifications:

The candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office. Revit knowledge preferred. Must have excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, ability to work effectively in a team atmosphere, and meet deadlines. Self-motivated and with a strong work ethic and personally driven to consistently meet project design and performance goals. Ability to work independently as well as with various disciplines and types of people and committed to being an effective, contributing team player
