Position typically works Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm with regular travel between Edmond and Downtown campus locations as needed. In-state travel to event locations also occasionally required.
Position Overview
Primarily provides academic advising for graduate programs in the College of Business. There are currently three graduate programs: MBA, MS in Business Analytics, and MS in Finance; all with diverse student populations. Will also assist with application management, events, activities, course needs, marketing, and other related activities for graduate programs in the College of Business.
Job Duties
Responsible for academic advisement of graduate students and related procedures
Responsible for tracking and managing enrollments
Utilize Banner for student information and problem-solving
Coordinate with the Jackson College of Graduate Studies on application management
Assist with graduate student and alumni events to include logistics, invitations, food orders, facility and activity reservations, payment, etc.
Assist with new graduate student activities for orientation
Assist with graduate student surveys every semester
Assist with graduation receptions
Assist faculty with course needs
Assist with graduate student recruiting
Interface with the Office of Global Affairs for international students when needed
Coordinate with College marketing, outreach, and alumni relations staff for promotion and social media needs
Assist with other duties as assigned
Position requires ability to work from both the UCO Edmond Campus as well as the UCO Downtown location. In-state travel to event locations also occasionally required.
Qualifications/Experience Required:
Requires a bachelor's degree in related field plus 3+ years of relevant experience or if no degree, 10+ years of work experience that provides knowledge and expertise to achieve results.
Qualifications/Experience Preferred
Minimum three years' experience in higher education. Knowledge of Banner, Slate, and Microsoft Office 365 preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Good communication and organization skills required. Ability to work well with others and to take direction well. Detail oriented work ethic and ability to manage multiple ongoing events and projects. Knowledge of computer software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Microsoft Bookings & PowerBI. Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to create detailed and professional reports, budgets, letters, etc. Demonstrated ability to multi-task, organizes activities, meet deadlines and conduct events. Ability to effectively manage confidential and sensitive information. Ability to effectively communicate with individuals of diverse backgrounds, interests and education. Demonstrated ability to work independently.
