Job Description
The Analyst will be responsible for analyzing POS, direct retailer, and panel data to provide business insights and actionable recommendations to improve sales and profitability. The Analyst will report to Sinco's Data Analytics Director.
The candidate will be one of Sinco's 'go-to' data insights resources and will be asked to conduct high-quality analysis, while leveraging effective communication. This individual will support Sinco's growth strategy through data analysis and work cross-functionally with other team members from category management, sales, marketing, and analytics. Strong communication and presentation skills are essential, as the candidate will regularly collaborate and present findings to internal stakeholders, client suppliers, and buyers.
The candidate will live at the intersection between data analytics and retail . The candidate must employ a strong sense of curiosity, desire to continuously learn, and a passion for analyzing data to dig deeper and answer the "why"?
Responsibilities
Lead high-impact presentations to retail customers, supplier partners, and internal stakeholders, positioning Sinco as a category expert.
Extract and analyze POS, direct retailer data , and panel data from various databases and platforms.
Identify insights and specific opportunities based on analysis of retail and category data and provide recommendations to the account team. Project work will include analytics related to sales reviews, category reviews, overall business trends, assortment etc.
Conduct ad-hoc analysis and complete ad-hoc category management reports, trend analysis, and special project work for internal / external leaders as necessary.
Generate periodically scheduled reports. Clearly communicate and articulate compelling business insights with data and context, verbally, in writing, and through presentations with impactful visualizations.
Develop dashboards that enable leadership to track the sales of Sinco suppliers and import and quickly understand market trends and opportunities.
Qualifications
Need to Have:
Undergraduate degree.
7 years of data analytics experience in consumer goods or retail.
Extensive experience analyzing POS, retailer, and panel data to drive sales and share growth.
Strong background in loyalty data analytics with experience using Unify, or other similar analytics platforms
Strong understanding of grocery shopping behavior and what factors influence consumer shopping habits
High level Excel skills. Highly skilled in other Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word and PowerPoint).
Strong communication skills including verbal, presentation, and written capabilities.
Customer service orientation.
Experience with Power BI.

Bachelor's or master's degree in Business, Marketing, Management, Accounting, Data Analytics, or related field.
