Project Manager/Estimator - Electrical
Collins Electric is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Project Manager/Estimator to join our team. This role is vital in ensuring the success of each project, from accurate pre-planning to project closeout, and involves both managing active projects and preparing precise bids. Reporting directly to the project executives, the Project Manager/Estimator will be responsible for maintaining high standards of project quality, customer relationships, and financial oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management from Pre-Construction to Closeout:
Oversee every phase of assigned projects, from initial planning through to final closeout. This includes coordinating with teams on-site and off-site, ensuring timelines are met, and addressing any challenges proactively to keep the project on track.
Project Estimating:
Produce detailed, timely, and accurate project estimates to support bidding and contract negotiation processes. This includes analyzing project specifications, coordinating with vendors, and leveraging historical data to refine cost projections.
Client and Stakeholder Relationships:
Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure project alignment and high levels of customer satisfaction. Act as a primary point of contact for clients, providing consistent updates and managing expectations.
Workforce Projections and Resource Management:
Prepare accurate workforce projections and ensure labor resources are appropriately allocated and managed to meet project demands and deadlines. Collaborate closely with field teams to optimize labor scheduling and efficiency.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Electrical Experience:
A strong foundation in electrical work is required, with an electrical license (from any state) being highly preferred. Knowledge of electrical systems and relevant codes is essential to effectively manage and estimate project needs.
Experience in Project Management/Estimating:
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project management or estimating within the electrical or construction industry. Proven track record of managing project budgets, timelines, and outcomes successfully.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to facilitate collaboration across teams, provide clear updates, and ensure alignment with client goals and project timelines.
Organizational Skills and Time Management:
Exceptional ability to prioritize tasks, work efficiently, and adapt to shifting project demands. Able to multitask and manage competing priorities effectively.

Technical Proficiency:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and general technical aptitude. Familiarity with Procore or similar project management software is a plus, as it supports the efficient management and tracking of project details.
