As they grow, they are seeking a versatile professional who can help us define product offerings, support key projects, and bring operational efficiency to our processes.
Role Summary
The Product Manager / Product Owner will play a vital role in defining, developing, and supporting their geospatial product lines. This role will involve working closely with executive management, engineering, finance, and sales to drive product development, define specifications, establish pricing models, and support sales initiatives. The ideal candidate will have geospatial expertise, startup adaptability, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.
Key Responsibilities
Product Definition & Development
Define and develop new geospatial product lines
Create product specification templates and help establish product development processes
Prototype product features with input from clients and prospective clients, ensuring creativity and practicality
Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to align product capabilities with customer needs
Pricing & Sales Support
Develop pricing structures that align with services, considering factors such as licensing, data usage, and geospatial metrics (e.g., kilometers surveyed)
Work closely with finance and other teams to align pricing models and strategies
Sit in on and support sales calls, helping to represent product capabilities and create sales collateral as needed
Help implement and establish processes for product definition and development, including supporting the implementation of quality management systems (e.g., AS9100)
Collaborate across departments, including executive management, finance, engineering, and sales, to support company-wide initiatives and ensure product alignment
Support procurement activities related to contract management systems and manage the administration of these systems
Key Qualifications
Geospatial Expertise: Strongly desired but not required; must understand geospatial concepts well enough to define and develop products
Product Management Experience: Mid-level experience with a focus on hands-on project involvement
Cross-functional Experience: Proven ability to work effectively with multiple departments, including Legal, IT, Sales, and Engineering, to build strong relationships and support cross-functional activities
Startup Adaptability: Ability to wear many hats, be adaptable, and work creatively in a dynamic startup environment
Pricing Model Development: Experience in developing complex, layered pricing structures, ideally with exposure to pricing geospatial or technology-based services
Communication & Problem-solving: Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
