Position Summary:
The Designer Engineer is responsible for designing custom cabinets that align with the client's vision. This role involves close collaboration with dealers and the production team to ensure each design is functional, aesthetically pleasing, and meets quality standards.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Design Development:
Create detailed cabinet designs using CAD software, including layout plans, elevations, and 3D renderings.
Prepare and revise designs based on client feedback, ensuring their vision is accurately represented in the final product.
Work closely with the production team to ensure designs are manufacturable and meet specifications.
Material Selection:
Advise clients on the selection of materials, finishes, and hardware to achieve the desired look and functionality.
Project Coordination:
Oversee the design process from concept to completion, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
Create and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including specifications, materials lists, and design notes for project tracking.
Client Presentations:
Conduct initial consultations with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and budget constraints.
Present design concepts and revisions to dealers, incorporating feedback and making necessary adjustments.
Trends Research:
Stay up to date with industry trends, new materials, and design technologies to offer innovative solutions to clients.
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in cabinet design, interior design, or a related field.
Bachelor's degree in interior design, architecture, or a related discipline preferred.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, 20-20 Design).
Knowledge of cabinetry construction, materials, and hardware.
Familiarity with Cabinet Vision.
Strong visual and spatial design skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
