As a Project Scheduler, you will ensure the successful planning, scheduling, and execution of projects using Primavera P6 software. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and stakeholders, to develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules, identify critical paths, and optimize project timelines.
Qualifications and Skills
A bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, construction management, or a related field from a four-year college or technical school is preferred. Experience in O&G projects is preferred.
Relevant certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, PMI-SP) and proficiency in other project management tools/software are a plus.
5+ years documented work experience scheduling major projects ($500k and greater). Candidates should be fully trained and highly proficient in the scheduling software Primavera P6 Scheduling. Broad engineering experience in the oil industry and knowledge of best practices would be desirable. In-depth understanding of project management principles, scheduling techniques, and methodologies.
Analytical skills to evaluate complex project schedules and identify critical paths.
Ability to perform other duties assigned by management related to project and cost controls.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Have experience in and be able to facilitate and participate in the Interactive Schedule Development process.
Ability to interact with client personnel as required inside and outside of meetings.
Responsibilities and Duties
The following are considered prominent roles and responsibilities of the project scheduler:
Utilize Primavera P6 software to create, update, and maintain project schedules, incorporating all necessary details, milestones, and dependencies.
Works directly with Project and/or Program Managers to support executing all scheduling controls processes and systems on large-scale EPC (Engineering Procurement and Construction) projects.
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring accuracy, feasibility, and alignment with project goals.
Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to understand project scope, objectives, and timelines.
Advise management of risks that may affect project costs, schedules, and client relations.
Generate progress reports, analyze schedule variances, and recommend corrective actions to meet project timelines.
Identify critical paths, potential risks, and constraints within project schedules and propose mitigation strategies.
Work with the Project and Construction Manager to evaluate and report on project change requests.
Facilitate and participate in the internal and external schedule review meetings. Be able to lead those meetings if appropriate.
Conduct regular schedule reviews and updates, incorporating changes, new information, or project adjustments.
Report schedule updates, changes, and potential impacts to relevant stakeholders.
Provide guidance and support to project teams on schedule-related matters and Primavera P6 functionalities.
