Type: full-time

Job Description:

The big picture:

Every day will be different in this role! We're looking for a strong generalist who's excited about tackling new and unexpected challenges / projects, is a fast learner, has a lot of self-initiative, and is passionate about startups / founders / VC / angel investing, etc.

In this role, you'll be a crucial teammate helping PIN push forward initiatives ranging from product to ops to content/GTM. Examples from the previous few weeks include:
  1. working closely with our engineering team, essentially as a PM, to implement community features that have been highly requested from PIN leaders and portfolio company founders. This also includes interviewing users, doing independent research on tangentially related products, and working with our designer.
  2. helping ideate and execute on new content and GTM ideas, including fun product drops, our early employee interview series, or a new short-form video series we're experimenting with
  3. design and execute a better process of handling taxes and invoices in preparation for tax season, including getting feedback from our tax partners, mapping out logistics for 2025, working with our engineers to implement helpful features, and identifying/fixing inefficiencies (including parts of the process that could be automated)

About the role:
  • Identify opportunities where we can improve and execute on solutions. This spans operations, product, GTM / sales, and more
  • Serve as our team expert on core features of our offering, including legal and tax work. You will work with our external partners (such as counsel and external tax experts) to make product features or create better documentation/communications with our users
  • Evaluate and lead execution of one-off, opportunistic strategic projects as they come up

About you:
  • Extremely detail-oriented and organized
  • Find "boring" things (legal docs, financial regulation, tax regulations) interesting / intriguing, especially when it comes to startup investing
  • You love digging into the weeds and understanding something fully (this is not a great job if you're looking to give high level strategy recommendations, such as in a traditional consulting role)
  • Fast learner, especially on new and complex topics. This includes having strong judgment and being able to synthesize information from many different sources (lawyers, users, tax firms, etc.) quickly/efficiently
  • Strong bias for action. You're excited about executing on projects and showing results (not just creating high-level documents and powerpoints)
  • Strong independent contributor, but like collaborating with other people (both internal teammates + external partners/users)
  • Professional and responsive communicator
  • Flexible - as an early stage startup, we're constantly changing and work best when our teammates are excited about wearing a bunch of different hats. We also care tremendously about our users/customers, so flexibility (whether that's in working hours or projects you work on depending on team and user needs) is very important
  • Nice to have, but not mandatory: prior interest in/knowledge of angel/startup investing or VC or fund admin (experience in startup investing is a plus, but motivation/passion to learn is 10x more important)
  • Nice to have, but not mandatory: 4+ years of experience in a biz ops, chief of staff, operations (or tangential) role. Startup experience is a plus.

Benefits:
  • Competitive salary and equity grant
  • Medical, vision, and dental insurance with options that are 100% employer-paid
  • Unlimited time off
  • Reimbursement for a home office setup
  • Paid travel costs to team off-sites

Even if you don't fit 100% of the qualifications listed, we still encourage you to apply! We're very open-minded to different backgrounds and the above is meant to simply provide guidance.

What we do:

PIN makes it easy for any community to invest in startups together. We automate the logistics - legal, tax, admin work (aka all the boring stuff) - so that members can focus on sourcing, investing, community events, engaging with/learning from people with shared passions, etc (aka all the fun stuff).

Our mission is to be the easiest way for any person to reliably invest in high-quality, venture-backed startups - a $300B+ asset class that has driven significant financial returns over the last decade but has historically been difficult to access for most because of accreditation rules. PIN allows anyone to seamlessly start or join investment clubs, an investment vehicle that allows anyone - regardless of accreditation - to invest in startups.

We support communities from YC, Stanford, Coinbase, a16z SPEEDRUN, Harvard, MIT, Sequoia Arc, and more.

We're a well-capitalized, seed-stage startup backed by top VCs including Initialized and NEA. We're remote-first and seeking the best talent regardless of location, but we have a preference for NYC-based candidates for this role.

How to apply:

You maximize your chances by reaching out to us directly! Please reach out to contact@getpin.xyz, title your e-mail "BizOps @ PIN", and include at least a short paragraph on why you're interested in this role and your LinkedIn. Please also include a sentence about something you've learned lately that you find interesting (can be literally anything - doesn't have to be related to PIN or this role). (Given how important being detail oriented is for this role, any applications that don't match this description will be ignored ????)
