We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee construction projects from the planning phase through to completion. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of projects, with an emphasis on managing cost, quality, and timely delivery. The scope of the role will vary depending on project requirements.
Responsibilities
Serve as the main point of contact for clients, vendors, regulatory agencies, and other project stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication.
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, driving the project to meet deadlines consistently.
Oversee the execution of contracts, change orders, and other legal and project-related documentation.
Negotiate and manage cost proposals, ensuring that budgets are adhered to.
Handle owner billing and prepare subcontractor payments.
Conduct regular project progress meetings with all relevant stakeholders.
Perform financial analysis to track the cost-to-complete status of the project.
Resolve disputes and address problems that may arise during project execution.
Provide senior management with monthly project status reports, highlighting key metrics and issues.
Update and manage the Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules for project tracking.
Ensure contractors and vendors maintain appropriate insurance coverage as required.
Ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and Local regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
Produce reports, projections, and related documentation to keep all stakeholders informed.
Meet regularly with management to provide comprehensive updates on project status and risks.
Direct and provide support to the project team, including Superintendents, Project Engineers, Field Administrators, and others.
Perform additional duties as needed to ensure successful project delivery.
Requirements
A minimum of seven years of experience as a Project Manager in the construction industry.
Experience in managing public works projects is preferred, especially those related to educational facilities (K-12, community colleges, or universities).
A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Proficiency in reading blueprints and other construction drawings.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite; experience with Prolog and Primavera Scheduling software is a plus.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is an advantage.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with a wide range of personalities and professional backgrounds.
