Our client in Vista, California has an opening for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer.
This is an onsite/full-time/direct hire position
Salary based on experience: $125K - $160K
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all mechanical and digital technologies at the Vista plant, ensuring smooth operation, optimization, and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment and processes.
Lead the adoption of Industry 4.0 and smart factory technologies, incorporating automation, IoT, machine learning, and data analytics to enhance plant efficiency and decision-making.
Develop and implement predictive and preventive maintenance programs to manage equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and extend the life of assets.
Manage new plant design and build projects, including greenfield and brownfield expansions, from initial design through to commissioning, ensuring that all mechanical systems and digital technologies meet performance, safety, and scalability requirements.
Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to ensure effective integration of basic and digital maintenance tools, such as predictive analytics and automated systems for tracking equipment health and performance.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to increase productivity, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures and breakdowns, implementing corrective actions and preventive measures to avoid future occurrences.
Manage capital projects related to equipment upgrades, new installations, and plant expansions, ensuring timely delivery and budget adherence.
Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, ensuring that all mechanical systems and processes adhere to industry standards.
Provide technical training and mentorship to engineering and maintenance staff to build a knowledgeable, safety-focused, and innovative workforce.
Keep up-to-date with advancements in manufacturing technology, equipment, and best practices, and propose upgrades and improvements to keep the plant at the forefront of operational excellence.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, and Industrial Engineering.
Advanced degrees or certifications in relevant technologies are preferred.
LEAN Certification (e.g: Green Belt / Black Belt)
12+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, including leadership of mechanical systems and digital technologies in a plant environment.
Hands-on implementation experience in Industry 4.0 technologies and smart factory solutions, such as automation, IoT, data-driven systems, and predictive maintenance tools.
