Our Opportunity
North American Lighting (NAL) is looking for a Buyer to join our Technical Design Center based in Farmington Hills, MI The ideal candidate will have a strong background in negotiating supplier contracts that meet or exceed supply, material quality, and commercial goals and objectives.
Your Priorities
While working within the fast paced, automotive environment, you will purchase production materials, components, equipment, tooling, MRO items, and service utilizing new and/or existing suppliers
Draft sourcing recommendations for award summarizing the bid history and justifying the selection of awarded bidder
Work with Supplier Quality Engineering for source selection
Support new program launch activities, and participates in design process reviews
Open and close orders as needed to maintain inventory levels
Analyze, negotiate, and issue RFQ's to suppliers for new and existing materials, supply contracts, and services
Develop and execute sourcing strategies and prepare monthly reports to track and show sourcing strategy and progress, including achievement to spend reduction targets (PPV)
Your Background
Bachelor's degree in Business or a related discipline (degree in Engineering or Supply Chain Management is preferred)
0 to 3 years of professional experience with direct purchasing, negotiating with suppliers and managing the supply base post- negotiation
Prior purchasing experience involving spend in excess of $30 million is beneficial
