Job Description:

A Well-Known Gifting Company in Jericho, Long Island NY is looking for a Product Development Associate for their plants category to join the team on a temp-to-perm basis. This role is full-time hours.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare line list for new seasonal and core development reflecting a seasonal assortment plan
  • Prepare for and attend weekly commercialization meetings communicating information regarding line list and assortment.
  • Understand and manage packaging and packaging approval process for hard goods.
  • Receive samples, review for accuracy, document sample and store or send samples as needed.
  • Communicate with procurement on new development options.
  • Work with VR and Procurement on CSI awareness and issues resolution.
  • Manage new samples for feasible up sell and add-on strategies.
  • Obtain samples for box fit and ensure ship sample approval is executed.
  • Prepare creative briefs for care cards for products that require explanation.
  • Ensure products in development are properly test shipped.
  • Obtain quote sheets and pricing (spec sheets) from hard good suppliers on all quarterly products and pending products currently in development.
  • Prepare gross margin calculations for products and maintain a gross margin book to include core every day and holiday pricing.
  • Maintain accurate gross margin calculators and ensure new calculators are updated and reflect relevant parameters.
  • Prepare a monthly visual deck, order in product and prepare all components for shoot in collaboration with photography team.
  • Prepare a creative turnover document for the creative copy team for each month's LDL identifying the product name, key attributes, colors and descriptions, functionality, occasion, etc. accentuating the best product details.
  • Review copy for accuracy and approval.
  • Ensure all commercialized product goes live according to the LDL, reviewing start and end dates, retails, names, images - making certain they are accurate.

Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree required.
  • Ideally 2 + years experience and a background in merchandising or product development.
  • Must be organized and have excellent communication skills
