A well established and continuously growing food manufacturer in the Lebanon, IN area is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to initiate and run their QA department. You will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, quality, and regulatory compliance of their food products. You will build and lead a team of quality professionals to implement and maintain robust quality systems that meet or exceed industry standards and customer expectations.
Responsibilities:
Quality Systems:
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality management systems, including HACCP, GMPs, and SSOPs.
Conduct regular internal audits to assess compliance with quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with quality objectives.
Regulatory Compliance:
Stay updated on relevant food safety regulations, such as FDA, USDA, and FSMA.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including labeling, allergen control, and traceability.
Manage and respond to regulatory inspections and audits.
Quality Control:
Oversee incoming raw material inspections and finished product testing.
Monitor and analyze product quality data to identify trends and potential issues.
Implement corrective and preventive actions to address quality problems.
Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor a team of quality assurance professionals.
Recruit, hire, and train new team members.
Set performance expectations and provide regular feedback and coaching.
Customer Satisfaction:
Respond to customer complaints and inquiries related to product quality.
Collaborate with customer service and sales teams to resolve issues and maintain customer satisfaction.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Utilize data-driven decision-making to optimize quality processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field.
5+ years of experience in quality assurance within the food manufacturing industry.
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and quality management systems.
Proven leadership skills and ability to manage teams effectively.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 1 and quality management software
