The Technical Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily technical operations within the production floor, ensuring that all machinery and technical processes meet company standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves supervising a team of technicians, troubleshooting technical issues, and implementing process improvements to optimize production efficiency and product quality. Collaborate with engineers to lead technical projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Titles Supervised: Team Leaders, Line Technicians, Kettle Cleaners, and Compounders
Key Responsibilities
Technical Oversight and Supervision - 40%
Lead and supervise a team of technicians, providing guidance on technical and operational issues.
Monitor production machinery to ensure optimal performance, quality, and adherence to safety standards.
Conduct regular equipment inspections and oversee preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend machinery lifespan.
Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution - 20%
Quickly respond to technical issues on the production floor, diagnosing problems and implementing timely solutions.
Analyze equipment performance data to identify recurring issues and proactively address them to minimize disruptions.
Process Improvement and Optimization - 20%
Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and increased efficiency.
Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to enhance productivity.
Drive continuous improvement projects, utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
Training and Development - 10%
Train technical staff on equipment operation, troubleshooting techniques, and best practices in safety and efficiency.
Develop skill-building programs to enhance the technical knowledge and performance of team members.
Compliance and Documentation - 10%
Ensure all technical activities and processes comply with regulatory and quality standards, including OSHA, FDA, and cGMP requirements.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, KPI's, OEE (Operational Equipment Efficiency), and SOPs.
Ensure compliance with ISO 14001 Standards and CSR efforts.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering preferred).
Experience: 4- 5 years of experience in a technical or engineering role within a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead capacity.
Skills:
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles such as SMED, Visual Factory Management, TPM, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, and Kaizen events.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Experience with ADP, Kronos or similar time and attendance systems is a plus.
People management skills with a focus on team development and performance improvement
Preferred Background: Experience in a "batch processing" or "make-to-order" manufacturing environment.
