A leading building materials provider in Idaho is seeking a General Manager to lead in turning around the growth, financial performance, and operational excellence of the Interior Install Division. The GM will oversee residential flooring, cabinet, and countertop customer engagement and installations, focusing on best-in-class customer experiences and fostering a winning culture within a close-knit business unit.
Responsibilities:
Own and leverage the P&L for profitability and strategic growth.
Lead and inspire the business unit toward an efficient growth mindset, fostering trust, accountability, and engagement.
Balance sales and operations effectively, improving processes and implementing winning strategies.
Cast and execute a clear, strategic vision aligning with company goals.
Optimize operations for efficiency, safety, and productivity.
Manage warehouse, inventory, contracts, and warranties.
Drive sales through managing sales specialists and client relationships, especially with national home builders.
Proactively solve problems and make decisive, impactful decisions.
Foster transparent, feedback-driven culture and employee engagement.
Requirements:
Proven leadership experience in a residential installation business or similar.
Recent history of leading a profitable and growing business unit.
Effectively manages sales specialists and navigates the inherent tension between sales and operations.
Willingness to embrace an employee-first culture, recognizing that the customer experience flows out of the employee experience.
Systems and process-oriented leader who eliminates repeat mistakes but is also adaptable.
Understanding of how labor management impacts the financial success of the business.
Experience in commercial/multifamily installations and process improvement is a plus.
Lean methods, cabinet/countertop manufacturing, and BisTrack/RFMS is a plus.
