We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Labor and Delivery to join our team at Community Hospital in Grand Junction, CO. This role involves overseeing all aspects of labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and team management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leadership, directorship, and nursing, with a commitment to excellence and patient satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
Oversee daily preparation of delivery rooms and schedule staff assignments based on competencies and operational needs.
Ensure smooth adjustments for add-on cases and handle personnel absences.
Patient Care Management:
Supervise the daily care of patients to maintain the highest quality standards.
Assist with patient care when needed, including circulating and scrubbing.
Take administrative and/or staff call as assigned.
Quality Assurance:
Develop and implement hospital and nursing division philosophies and standards of care.
Ensure compliance with state nursing board and practice act requirements, as well as other governing regulations.
Staff Development:
Recruit, select, orient, and train nursing and auxiliary staff to build a high-performing team.
Financial Oversight:
Prepare and manage the annual budget, including monitoring expenditures and addressing variances.
Equipment and Supplies:
Oversee the maintenance and operation of medical and administrative equipment.
Manage nursing supplies inventory and anticipate future needs based on trends.
Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.
Experience:
At least 5 years of experience in Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP).
Minimum of 5 years of leadership or directorship experience in a healthcare setting.
Certifications/Licenses:
Current unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Colorado.
BLS (Basic Life Support).
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support).
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program).
