Many of the biggest names within the Welding industry rely on Astaras to bring new products to the market and help ensure Welders all over America have the correct equipment on time. Astaras currently has between 40 - 50 employees and is located in Largo, FL.

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Purchasing Specialist to join our team at Astaras, a leading provider of private-label welding products. The ideal candidate will manage procurement activities, maintain strong supplier relationships, and ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and components necessary for our operations. Other duties are outlined below.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Identify and procure industrial components and materials to meet production and operational needs for Astaras in North America (Primarily USA and Canada).
  • Ensure purchases align with company policies and budgetary constraints.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure the best pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Resolve supplier issues, including delivery delays, quality concerns, or pricing discrepancies.
  • Prepare, issue, and manage purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Monitor purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and update stakeholders on order status.
  • Review and negotiate pricing to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Conduct regular market research to identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date purchasing records, including purchase orders, invoices, and supplier agreements.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 2-3 years in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and purchasing software/ERP systems.
  • Attention to detail with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess costs and benefits.
