JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Head of Global Procurement will lead the procurement team in developing and implementing procurement strategies aligned with the organization's goals and objectives. You will be responsible for managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and identifying cost-saving opportunities. Additionally, you will oversee the global procurement process from sourcing to delivery, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services while maintaining quality standards.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Develop and implement global procurement strategies to optimize cost savings and operational efficiency. • Identify and evaluate potential vendors and suppliers based on quality, price, and reliability. • Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors to secure favorable terms and conditions. • Oversee the procurement process, including requisition, sourcing, purchasing, and delivery. • Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues or disputes that may arise. • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and requirements. • Stay abreast of market trends, economic factors, and regulatory changes that may impact procurement. • Lead and mentor the global procurement team, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
Required Skill Sets: • Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement with at least 2 years in a global role • Excellent analytical abilities • Strong negotiations skills • Proficiency in procurement software and tools • Deep understanding of supply chain management principles • Effective communication and interpersonal skills • Strategic thinking and decision-making abilities • Knowledge of contract law and vendor management • Bachelor's degree in business administration (advanced degree preferred)
Desired Skill Sets: • Experience in procurement within manufacturing and/or automotive environment • Leadership and team management skills • Certification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) • Familiarity with international procurement regulations and practices
