The Scheduling Supervisor (Out of Product) is responsible for managing the scheduling process for products that are out of stock, including coordinating with production, inventory, and purchasing departments to address stockouts and ensure timely delivery. This role will involve analyzing supply chain data, forecasting product needs, and optimizing schedules to minimize delays while meeting customer demand. The supervisor will also be responsible for ensuring that production schedules align with product availability and that production runs efficiently without delays due to inventory shortages.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor Product Inventory: Track inventory levels for products that are out of stock or on backorder. Ensure timely updates to scheduling systems regarding product availability.
Coordinate with Supply Chain Teams: Work closely with procurement, production, and logistics teams to ensure that the replenishment of out-of-stock products is prioritized and scheduled appropriately.
Forecast Demand: Analyze historical data and collaborate with demand planning teams to forecast product needs, ensuring schedules align with future supply availability.
Scheduling Production Runs: Develop and update production schedules for products that are out of stock, ensuring production can begin as soon as materials are available.
Communicate Delays: Provide timely communication to internal teams and customers regarding any delays or disruptions in product availability and anticipated restock dates.
Optimize Production Efficiency: Ensure production efficiency by balancing available resources and adjusting schedules as needed based on product availability.
Resolve Scheduling Conflicts: Address any scheduling conflicts related to the out-of-stock product, ensuring minimal impact on overall production timelines.
Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in scheduling processes, working to streamline and optimize workflow for handling out-of-stock products.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of scheduling decisions, stock levels, and any delays, providing regular reports to upper management.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in scheduling, inventory management, or supply chain coordination, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in scheduling software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar), Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to coordinate effectively with different teams and report on scheduling updates and changes.
