Director of Operations of Venture-Backed Fintech and Edtech Startup Overview: Goalsetter is revolutionizing financial education in America. The Director of Operations Role: The Director of Operations is a vital partner to the CEO and Founder, playing a crucial role on our leadership team. This position oversees operations, customer service, reconciliation, fraud, implementation, and more. Reporting directly to the Chief Compliance Officer and collaborating closely with the rest of the organization, the Director or Operations ensures business efficiency, operational scalability and alignment across all departments. Responsibilities: Operational Leadership: - Optimize Processes: Continuously evaluate and refine operational processes to enhance efficiency and productivity. - Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with leadership teams across Strategy, Finance, Operations, Implementation, Product, IT, Compliance, Customer Service, HR, Project Management, Sales, Operations Accounting, and Fraud to ensure seamless process execution. Operational Planning: - Collaborate on Vision: Partner with the leadership team to drive operational processes aligned with growth objectives. - Translate Strategy into Action: Convert strategic visions into actionable steps, implementing goal setting, performance management systems, KPIs for the operations team and annual planning. Operational Management: - Maintain Resilience: Balance long-term strategic vision with day-to-day management for sustained success. - How can I solve this problem? approach: A start-up has a lot to do and roles need to be flexible. Business Acumen: - Cost/ROI Planning: Work closely with the CFO, IT & Product, and CCP to align budgets with company objectives and ensure accurate ROI. - Regular Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for leadership and Banking as a Service partner to inform decision-making. Technology and Innovation: - Infrastructure Development: Oversee development and deployment of scalable operational solutions for the organization. - Change Management: Lead organizational change initiatives, fostering employee engagement and smooth transitions. - Digital Transformation: Drive digital transformation by integrating cutting-edge technologies. - Innovation Culture: Cultivate a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Resource Management: - Effective Allocation: Ensure resources meet immediate and future operational needs. - Implementation of new tools to improve efficiency, customer service and control. Customer Experience: - Service Excellence: Guarantee exceptional customer service and support to enhance satisfaction and loyalty. - Data-Driven Insights: Use data analytics and NPS metrics to improve customer engagement. - Customer Journey Optimization: Refine customer journey initiatives to boost satisfaction and engagement. - Risk Management: Identify and mitigate operational risks without impacting customer experience. Compliance and Risk Management: - Regulatory Compliance: Implement processes to ensure full compliance with financial regulations in partnership with the Chief Compliance Officer. - Adherence to Legal Guidelines: Ensure operations adhere to all relevant legal and policy guidelines. - Risk Management Oversight: Collaborate with the CFO to implement comprehensive risk management processes and reporting. Qualifications and Experience: - Proven Operational Experience: Demonstrated success as a Director of Operations or similar hands-on role, showcasing the ability to effectively lead and manage an organization. - Leadership with High Growth Companies: Extensive experience in steering early-stage, high-growth companies towards sustainable development and market leadership. - Industry-Specific Expertise:In-depth knowledge and experience in financial services, compliance, and fintech sectors; familiarity with edtech is a plus. - Comprehensive Business Acumen: Solid understanding of how to best support various business functions, including Product Development Support, ensuring a holistic approach to operational management. - Strategic Planning Support for Business Development:Proven competence in implementation of strategic plans by scaling operations, driving the company towards its long-term goals. - Data-Driven Decision Making:Proficiency in data analysis and performance/operation metrics, leveraging insights to make informed, impactful decisions. - Business Infrastructure:Familiarity with business infrastructure, ensuring the efficient integration and operation of technological systems within the companys operations. - Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills and public speaking abilities, capable of effectively communicating with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. - Decision-Making and Problem-Solving Aptitude: Aptitude for decisive decision-making and adept problem-solving, navigating complex challenges with ease and efficacy. - Educational Background: A bachelors degree in business administration or a relevant field is desired About the Company The company is an innovative savings, financial literacy, and smart spending application designed for children, families, and individuals aspiring to build wealth.
