Job Description:
The Materials Specialist/Planner will play a crucial role in the Materials Department, working closely with production, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams.
Responsibilities:
Enforce company policies and safety regulations.
Understand and interpret customer releases on a weekly and daily basis.
Communicate effectively with customers and suppliers.
Ensure timely delivery by following up with suppliers and carriers.
Monitor forecasts to identify potential shipping issues.
Understand and manage cycle count processes and FIFO procedures.
Ensure adherence to FIFO procedures on the floor.
Review daily inventory levels to ensure material availability.
Communicate material flow issues to management.
Ensure safe, timely, and accurate shipments to FWA.
Manage material storage and window times for incoming loads.
Maintain housekeeping standards in the area.
Participate in continuous improvement activities.
Engage in self-directed work teams.
Support plant recycling programs.
Follow ISO14001 and TS16949 procedures.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Contribute to quality and management objectives by providing accurate part numbers promptly.
Respond quickly and professionally in urgent situations.
Qualifications:
SAP experience required.
Associate degree (AA/AS) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Effective communication skills for one-on-one and small group settings.
Detail-oriented.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
