Overview of the Refugee Welcome Collective (RWC)



The Refugee Welcome Collective is a community sponsorship (CS) technical assistance (TA) and training provider funded by the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM) and others to improve outcomes for refugees resettled through the U.S. Refugee Admissions program by building capacity and expanding community sponsorship. The Refugee Welcome Collective collaborates with partners to provide in-depth training programs, weekly learning sessions, learning resources, and on-demand technical assistance for sponsors, community sponsorship staff, refugees paired with sponsors, and community and institutional partners to support quality community sponsorship programs across the United States.

Purpose



We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Officer, Learner Engagement, to take a lead role in designing, coordinating, and managing program resources, such as the online resource map for sponsors and refugees, as well as supporting the Associate Director for Resources and Learning in organizing and facilitating a gathering of community sponsorship experts. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in enhancing the support provided to sponsors and refugees and contribute to the advancement of best practices in community sponsorship initiatives.



Responsibilities




Online Resource Map Management:



  • Lead the design, development, and regular updates of local information for the RWC's online resource map that provides sponsors and refugees with a user-friendly platform for accessing essential information, tools, and resources.

  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to gather relevant materials and ensure that the resource map remains current and comprehensive.

  • Ensure the resource map is organized effectively, easily navigable, and user-centric, enhancing the overall experience for sponsors and refugees.


Coordination and Communication:



  • Work closely with program staff, partners, and community organizations to gather feedback and continuously improve resources, tools, and program content.

  • Coordinate with design and technology teams to implement user interface improvements and ensure resources are compatible across various platforms and devices.

  • Communicate updates, improvements, and key information to users and partners through various channels, ensuring broad engagement and awareness.


Event Planning and Facilitation:



  • Support the planning, organization, and facilitation of key program events, such as expert gatherings, workshops, or training sessions.

  • Assist in identifying and inviting relevant participants and contribute to the development of event agendas that promote knowledge sharing, networking, and best practice identification.

  • Handle logistics for events, including venue selection, travel coordination, and resource preparation.




Partner Engagement:



  • Cultivate relationships with key internal and external partners, promoting collaboration and partnerships to enhance the impact of the resource map, CS expert gathering, and ongoing services.

  • Respond to inquiries and feedback from sponsors, refugees, and experts, ensuring that their needs and perspectives are integrated into program development.




Other Responsibilities



  • Complete other tasks as required.




Qualifications





  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, resource development, or related roles within the humanitarian, refugee, or social services sector.

  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan, execute, and evaluate projects effectively.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.

  • Experience in designing online platforms, databases, or resource repositories is a plus.

  • Familiarity with community sponsorship models and refugee integration is highly desirable.

  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate workshops, conferences, or expert gatherings is an asset.

  • Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and documentation.

  • Adaptability to evolving program needs and a dynamic work environment. Ability to maintain a high-performance standard with attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education & Certifications:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and work experience required.




Special Requirements



This position is a remote role with some in-person responsibilities related to meetings or onsite technical assistance visits. Remote employees must be able to fulfill the following conditions:




  • Ability to maintain a secure and appropriate personal work environment for day-to-day work.

  • Access to strong and reliable internet access.

  • Ability to adhere to CWS data security policies and protect sensitive and personally identifiable information.

  • Regular work hours must span core business hours 10 AM - 4 PM Eastern time.

  • Close proximity to U.S. airport and ability to travel to attend CWS and external meetings, conferences, and other in-person engagements.

  • Must use CWS-provided equipment such as a laptop and cell phone.
