Job Description:





We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Housing Market Analyst to join our Development & Community Advisory (DCA) team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for researching, analyzing, and forecasting trends in the housing market, providing data-driven insights to guide strategic decision-making for our clients. The position requires strong quantitative skills, the ability to interpret market data, and an understanding of the real estate industry.


As a Senior Housing Market Analyst with the DCA Development Advisory team, you will:


  • Assist in performing a wide range of real estate market analyses centering around the Section 42 Low-Income Housing Tax Credit ("LIHTC") and market rate rental market.

  • Assist in the preparation of housing market studies of proposed and existing real estate housing developments.

  • Analyze development sites to determine the suitability of sites for the proposed uses and market area.

  • Through the use of primary and secondary research, collect, summarize, and analyze competitive, economic, real estate, and demographic data.

  • Analyze economic trends in a given market area such as employment, average wages, median incomes, and relation to demand of affordable housing in the market area.

  • Conduct extensive phone research to gather data on planned or existing competitive housing projects and summarize relevant findings.

  • Compile data collected from research, develop conclusions, and provide client recommendations.

  • Manage and maintain large datasets, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and integrity of market data.

  • Conduct quality assurance checks on data sources and methodologies to ensure reliability.

  • Investigate and propose additional data sources that may offer further information on market research projects.



Qualified candidates will have:


  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, or related field of study.

  • Minimum one (1) to two (2) years of experience working in real estate research, market analysis, or data analytics roles.

  • Basic understanding of multifamily housing and real estate terms.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Demonstrated organizational and project management skills.

  • Well-developed analytical, critical, and creative thinking skills.

  • Strong ability to analyze complex data sets and identify key trends, patterns, and insights.

  • Proficiency in creating and presenting detailed reports and market analyses to diverse audiences.

  • Ability to provide exceptional client service and demonstrate commitment to continuous learning in order to stay current regarding applicable strategies.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

  • Highly developed Microsoft Suite skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

  • Ability to travel as needed.
